Wow..been a while.

So it has been a long time since I have had the time or the energy to....wait a damn minute, who am i kidding I have just been lazy and haven;t written.  OK got that out of the way.  So as some of you know I am a part time actor.  Right now I do it as a hobby but would love to make a career of it or at the very least a high paying second job.  A movie I did recently is playing in select theaters right now.  It is called "Bottled up" and it stars Melissa Leo, Marin Ireland, and Josh Hamilton.  I had the extreme pleasure acting in a few scenes with Ms. Leo.  She was a joy to work with and I enjoyed the hell out of it.  It happened to be my 43rd birthday when we shot my scenes.  I played a customer in the "mailboxes and things' store that her character worked at.  I had to ask for stamps, donuts, and a nipple piercing....lmao.  The funniest part for me was when the director was telling Melissa to look disgusted to be doing this to me.  Of course I had to pipe in and say "well that shouldn't be very difficult..just look at me".  That got a nice giggle on set.  Anyway..hope you all get a chance to see the movie.  My scenes are within the first 10 minutes of the movie and add some comic relief but the story is a fantastic one and I really enjoyed the finished product and hope you do as well....That's all for now...be good...carry on.

Car battery scheming against me

So today I get a call from the wife that her car is dead in the driveway with the tell-tale clicking sound...yes folks the battery was dead.  So after work I go and pick up an new battery 99.00 with a 5 dollar credit for returning the old battery.  drop it into place (After cursing up and down while loosening the nuts that hold the support bracket).  I don't know how they do it but without fail the socket that I need to loosen or tighten the nut seems to be missing from my toolbox.  Ok so as I am tightening the terminals down on the new posts it occurs to me that there seems to be the slightest bit of...who am I kidding the f'ing terminals just lift right off.  I swear it is a conspiracy that battery manufacturers dream up to mess with us.  I can hear them giggling now.."Hahaha we got another sucker..they fell for the smaller terminal trick".  I have to trek down to the nearest auto parts establishment and pick up a new terminal that will close tight enough to make a secure connection.  I finally get everything all connected and then I proceed to drop the socket somewhere in the lower portion of the car...there it shall stay  because I WILL NOT be retrieving it.  All this to make sure my dear wife Meg will be safe and not break down in the middle of the road with a loose battery connection.  I would do it all again because I love her that much.  Thanks for sharing in my fun for the day.

Things I wonder about sometimes

Every now and again I find myself wondering things and a lot of them don't make any sense ( I catch myself saying "why do I want to know?")  Some examples of these highly intelligent areas of wonder are"

I often wonder if that cigarette that was just thrown out of the car in front of me...will ignite my gas tank and blow up my car...(Note to self: Might have to call Mythbusters on that one).

Every time I am leaving the bathroom at work, or any public bathroom for that matter, I am always afraid that when I am about to reach for the handle someone is going to fling the door open and break my hand or a few fingers...

one lat thought...why the hell do they make extra strength and regular strength medicines....if I have a headache why WOULDN'T I want it to go away as fast as possible...."no no..I want to suffer for a while longer ill just take the regular strength.....NOT!!!

that's all for now...have a great day and watch out for those flying cigarettes!!

Old Woman story

Ive heard this story many times...i've never shared it until now:

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always
delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on
daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.

But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.
After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.

'I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all
the way back to your house.'

The old woman smiled, 'Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?'

'That's because I have always known about your flaw,
so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back,
you water them.'
For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.
Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.'

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding...

SO, to all of my cracked pot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

Where's winter

I can't remember the last time it was this warm in late January.  I want to go snowbaording and snowshoeing and sledding with my wife and son.  I'm not sure if I believe in the whole "Global Warming" phenomena but this is starting to get to me.  Lets list the good things about cold weather:

1. Good for sleeping
2. Copious amounts of Hot cocoa readily available
3. Hide the extra 15lbs you put on during the holidays
4. Snuggling with the one you love by the fire
5. Did I mention the Hot Cocoa

Anyway..hopefully it will be getting colder in the next few weeks because I have a frozen lake I am going to be jumping in on Feb. 11th

all for now............B

Time for a cleaning

Still have a few lawn decorations to take down from Halloween but then we start prepping for xmas.  There really aren't that many decorations for Thanksgiving and lets face it xmas is more fun to decorate for.  My neighbors and I usually have a unspoken contest (Which I win easily).  It is also time to clean out the kid's playroom.  So much crap that wasn't touched in months.....I say GONE.
